Once known as progressive rock band, Glasshouse, the band Drawn from Bees is an exciting new Art Rock band from Brisbane. Art rock, while often used interchangeably with progressive rock, is a unique form of rock that has come into its own as a style that is intended for ‘listening and not dancing’. The art rock sound that is purveyed by Drawn from Bees combines elements of contemporary art and literature with rock music. Now with three EP’s under their belt, the band have been well recognized as part of Triple J’s unearthed project which has led to some good air play on the radio and also two songs in the short list for the Hottest 100. The band’s music has always been exciting and I look forward to more great things from them.
