The World Is a Thorn

Demon Hunter’s latest offering may either impress or disappoint fans.  The World Is a Thorn isn’t really a new direction for the band, Demon Hunter call the album “heaviest but most melodic”. Though the guitars sound different there is still a familiarity about the album, the vocals remain the same and there are still a few guests to diversify the songs as per normal. The World Is a Thorn is an evolved song, not typically a bad thing but may result in losing some of their older fans, though it was well worth the experience of listening to. I recommend getting the deluxe edition for the String mix of Driving Nails.

Every time a band shifts gears and tries a new sound or direction, it's inevitable some fans will drift off. Bands grow and change (also inevitable) or else they get stale and stagnant playing the same stuff for 30 years.
