Hot Chips One Life Stand

Hot Chip’s excellent fourth record, One Life Stand is a wonky dancefloor mover. One Life Stand is an energetic album; while full of neon energy and quirkiness it still has some sensitive moments. One Life Stand is a remarkable ideal: the title track dances between doubt and joy; a brilliant expression of just how complicated happily-ever-after can be. Though this emotional nakedness is an unusual move after Made in the Dark, it pushes Hot Chip to a new level of attention and acclaim. The electro-pop album wears its heart on its sleeve, but remains clever and well crafted, well worth listening to.
