Mudvayne’s Latest Attempt at Complexity

Mudvayne fifth studio album was suppose to be a blending of all things fans enjoy. The creative mix of styles of Lost and Found with the heavier sounds found in their earlier work. But this album feels like they are trying to do too much, with some songs sounding more like Linkin Park or Tool. Mudvayne is more like a default writing mode from the previous album Lost and Found and then trying later to make it sound heavier. The band has always tried to make complex music which normally sounds awesome but I can’t help to think they pushed it a little too hard this time. Don’t get me wrong there are some very enjoyable songs but all in all they need to stick to their older formula a bit more and slowly work towards the complexity that the band was trying to aim for.
