With songs like Lithium, Come As You Are and Smells Like Teen Spirit, its not hard to see why Nirvana’s second album Nevermind was such a huge success. The album turned out to be the place where alternative rock crashed into the mainstream; no one could of predicted the popularity of Nevermind. For the subject matter, Nevermind was possibly more polished that it should be, but the unbridled power of the album transcends the pain. The music was gripping, powerful, and even fun; it’s simply one of the great modern rock records of our time.
