If we are talking about classic albums you can’t really go past the Jazz masterpiece, Birth of the Cool. The album was first released in 1949 by Jazz legend Miles Davis is often referred as the defining point of cool jazz. The album was practically perfect in every way it combined elements of big band with the moods of jazz, delivered by some of the most skilful musicians around, including Kai Winding, Gerry Mulligan, Lee Konitz, and Max Roach. The album itself is basically a musical partnership with arranger Gil Evans and a core group of like-minded musicians that yielded three remarkable sessions which have come down to us as Birth of The Cool. “Birth of the Cool” is a truly groundbreaking album and a must have for Jazz fans and music fans alike.
